Because I am a fan of Sarah Sundin, I spotted the B-17 aircraft on the front cover of this audiobook and knew I had to listen to it. From the first chapter, I relived my experience of visiting the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force near Savannah, Georgia, and connected to the images, photos, and fun facts inside the museum that Sundin referenced.
One of my favorite things about A Distant Melody (Wings of Glory #1) by Sarah Sundin is the romance between Allie Miller and Lt. Walter Novak. Even though Allie may not be quite as gorgeous as her best friend, Lt. Novak appreciates Allie’s mind and ability to listen, as well as her caring manner. The blossoming romance keeps me engaged.
Another highlight is the metaphor of music threaded throughout the storyline. In some relationships, notes can feel offbeat or flat, but in true harmony, the music flows in rhythm. As a reader, I heard the many notes inside each chapter that left me longing to listen to the second book in Sundin’s series.
