The Husband Tree (Montana Marriages, Book 2), by Mary Connealy

I am a fan of Mary Connealy and purchased The Husband Tree in 2024. But I didn’t take the time to sit and turn the pages of a book—until I spotted Barbara McCulloh’s audiobook and purchased it immediately. McCulloh is one of my favorite narrators, and, to her credit, I can count on the altered tone, cadence, and pitch throughout the novel to relax and never doubt who is speaking.

Humorous writing is an art form, and for most authors, it is difficult to execute. Yet Connealy has mastered this storytelling technique and, once again, transported me to the world of Belle Tanner and her four daughters, keeping me laughing and reading, especially in chapter one.

What I enjoyed most about The Husband Tree was the characterization and chemistry between Belle Tanner and Silas Harden. They needed each other to transform. Considering this fact, Connealy did a masterful job in showing how Belle and Silas change because of the other. This narration was much more than a good story with numerous plot twists and turns. Connealy’s story contains jewels of history, romance, suspense, plus so much more.

If you love engaging characters, laughter, and an excellent story, The Husband Tree (Montana Marriages, Book 2), by Mary Connealy might be an excellent choice. Other historical romance westerns by Connealy I highly recommend include Montana Rose (Montana Marriages, Book 1), Swept Away (Trouble in Texas, Book 1), Aiming for Love (Brides of Hope Mountain, Book 1),  and Forged in Love (Wyoming Sunrise, Book 1).
